Dark Knight Cream

Hi there! Today I want to share about the first eye cream that I’ve ever tried. 😊

Dark Knight Cream is a multi action product that lightens and brightens the skin around the eyes and helps prevent fine lines. I love this product since I can use it for different parts of my face and it doesn’t feel greasy.

It comes in a black durable plastic tube with a screw on cap. At first, I really didn’t see the end part of the tube so I thought it was a stick cream type haha! I felt so stupid when I recieved it.

Product claims:

Dual-action cream helps refine wrinkles and improve skin elasticity with Dragon’s blood.

Smell:
It has this very faint ointment smell. You won’t even notice it.

Texture:

Creamy but it easily spreads.

Ingredients:
Amazonian tree extract, Adenosine, Niacinamide.

My experiences with this:

  • It did not give me any irritations.
  • It lessened the puffiness around my eyes.
  • It brightened the skin around my eyes.
  • It isn’t oily which is good.
  • Fully dries after several minutes. No residues left.
  • At first use, it immediately lessened the appearance of crows feet and had a brightening effect 👍
  • With continuous use, the puffiness had lessened permanently 👍
  • It helped a little with the discoloration. Personally, I’m okay with this but for those of you who wants no discoloration at all you might need to conceal.
  • It hydrated the skin around my eyes 👍
  • With continuous use I noticed that the crows feet around my eyes are noticeably reduced 👍
  • When I use this on my smile contours, it took a week before the lines had diminished.
  • The brightening effect is great!
  • The skin around my eyes are so smoother now 😁
  • I used this on my entire face too and I woke up with brighter, softer skin! But my face was covered with a think film of oil.

Usage:

The directions on the package said that you use it in the morning and evening, but I only use it at night. I use this around the eyes and around the mouth. At the last step of my skin care routine I take a teeny tiny amount on my finger and gently spread it around the eye and gently dab it until it’s almost dried then I just wait for it to be absorbed.

I so love this product! I’ve been using this for weeks now and the 15mL is still a long way to go.

For reference:

My skin is combination type, oily t-zone and the sides of the nose and eyelids, enlarged pores, acne-prone, cystic acne problems.

Any thoughts about this? Recommendations for an inexpensive eye cream? Share!

Guerisson 9 Complex Cream

Hey there! I wanna share about this product that I bought (on sale of course 😂), it came in a set with Cloud 9 Blanc De Whitening Cream.

Guerisson is another Korean product, that specializes with skin care products that help even out the skin tone, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and pretty much make magic on your skin issues.

Product claims:
Hydrating, wrinkle-reducing, and brightening effects on skin. Enriched with Horse Oil imported from Germany, it speeds up cell metabolism and holds in moisture longer.

Ingredients:
Horse oil! 🐎 Is the main ingredient of this cream.

Smell:
At first it had a strong floral smell then mellowed to a mild citrus smell then disappeared after several minutes.

Texture:
Buttery. Like when you touch butter and it melts on your hand kind of feel.

Our experiences with this:

My sister’s perspective:

  • Lightweight
  • It feels like butter (kept touching her face)
  • The smell is fine (she hates strong odors)
  • It did not irritate her skin
  • Did not make her itchy
  • Did not break her out
  • Helped lighten the redness of acne marks

My perspective:

  • Oily at first then after 30 minutes or so it dries down to a demi matte finish
  • Lightweight
  • The smell is a little too strong for me for the first few minutes
  • It dulled the red angry redness of my cystic pimple
  • Brightened up my skin, it made it look more even
  • It hydrated my skin well
  • Did not made my skin itchy
  • Did not cause breakouts
  • In the morning after waking up my face isn’t oily, but when my nose is oily, this is when I know that I’ve used too much.

I used the 3mL sample packet first and it lasted me for 9 days 👍

Usage:

We use this as the last step of our very short night skin care routine, massaging small amounts on the face and neck in circular motions, letting it be absorbed and lightly tapping on the contours of the face.

For references:

My sister’s skin is oily, acne-prone, and very sensitive, has bad acne problems.

My skin is combination type, oily t-zone and the sides of the nose and eyelids, enlarged pores, acne-prone, cystic acne problems.

Laneige Pore Control BB Cushion

Recently I have been looking for a pick me up on cosmetics that has skin benefits, there are a lot out there and looking for one that suits your needs and that fits your skin tone without looking odd or deathly is a little hard unless you opt for just makeup and has a high price tag then it will not be hard to get one, but being a student splurging money is hard to come by -_-”

The hype of cushion cosmetics has become so popular around the world that some fortunate souls out there can grab one and try it and let it go if they don’t like it just like that or for whatever reason. But for those not so fortunate we grab one and pray that it works and if not well…sigh.. lol

Anyway, my TFS cushion in the shade V205 is a little darker for my skin right now and i kept it in a tight ziplock (hoping it will still be usable) for the summer and I came across a sale and tried out this cushion which is very popular called Laneige Pore Control BB Cushion, a company from Amore Pacific, that produces skin care and cosmetics.

The cushion comes in a variety of shades split in neutral and cool toned and comes in a cushion compact case with a holographic front cover.

Credits to Laneige

It has a textured cushion which helps to evenly distribute the product on the skin.

This product claims to:

  • Help the appearance of pores
  • Airbrushed, natural effect
  • Keeps skin moisturized
  • Have a brightening effect
  • Cover blemishes
  • Help with excess sebum

I have been using this product for almost one and a half months now. And the following are my observations:

Smell:
At first, the product smells of those cologne that we used when we were pre-teens (at least my friends does) with the citrusy refreshing smell that isn’t strong, but after a several minutes the scent disappears and all you can smell is mineral water all day while using this product. I find it refreshing.

Texture and consistency:

It does not have a sticky or tacky feel on the skin after it settles, and i find this lightweight. Feels like you’re not wearing anything.

Coverage:

I can say that this can be built up to medium to full coverage depending on what you’re going for. But I use this sheer just because I feel like my skin can breathe a little more.

Pore control:

Since I have a sucky camera I couldn’t take a good picture of what it did to blur out my enlarged pores, but it did the job! ^_^
The pores on my nose and on the cheek area has been covered but the redness of the pimples I have didn’t. Keep in mind that this is sheer coverage.

And yes my ears are lighter, that’s cause they’re always hidden.

Sebum control:
I commute to the university everyday so I’m exposed to dust, heat and I sweat a lot. And with heat and sweat comes oil! 4 hours before I noticed a little oil on my nose and 8 hours before I wanna just take everything off and start from scratch because my nose is oiling up and my face feels a little sticky.

Longevity:
I found that when I applied this product without a primer, it lasted longer. I have no idea why cause primers usually also help with adherence to the skin. It did stay on my skin the whole day even when I kept blotting my face cause I’m sweating too much. And not to mention it still smelled like mineral water after I got home! ^_^

Other benefits:

  • As almost all cushion foundations, it contains SPF50+, PA+++ which helped my skin while walking under the sun because I like walking.
  • It has cotton seed extracts that helps with brightening the skin tone.
  • It did not darken on my skin so that great!
  • It did not cause irritation or break outs.
  • I have to.mention that it is slightly waterproof like The Face Shop cushion.

Cons:

  • It’s expensive. Ugh.
  • It’s hard to find the shade I use because I have a medium skin tone and I live in a medium skin-toned people country.
  • After a several usage I noticed that the product is already hard to get, maybe getting squished towards the bottom of the container.
  • It’s expensive.

HOW TO APPLY:

Press the puff applicator on the sponge GENTLY or you’ll end up with too much product that will go to waste.

Gently pat the product on the skin working your way around your face NOT RANDOMLY PATTING IT ALL OVER or you will end up uneven and patchy.

I find that when I spread the product on the skin first and then patting and blending it, I use less product and end with an even texture.

Let it settle for a minute before you use a setting powder or finishing powder. So many powders -_-” BUT! since I have oily zones, I do use Skinfood Peach Sake Silky Finish Powder which I will write about later.

Personally I don’t use setting powders since I find that this product doesn’t really need it but…I only apply it sheer so hehe ^_^

If you guys have some tricks and tips for applying and setting the product, share it with me!

For reference: I have enlarged pores, very oily nose, combination and sensitive skin with acne scars.

Innisfree Lip Tapping Concealer

Hey there! Ever had problems with getting the true lipstick color of your favorite lipstick? Well jump right in! I’ve had this problem ever since I started using lipstick, my lips are discolored, there are darker parts and lighter part and we all know the darkened part always gives our lip crayons a weird pigment.

There are many hacks that we see on youtube, and DIY tutorials that help with this problem. For example the concealer that we use on our face trick, or the foundation trick, or the pressed powder trick, and so on. They do look good in pictures, freshly applied, but it’s hard to maintain it since our lips gets wet through out the day and then the concealer or foundation on our lips are getting eaten too and our lip colors crack and flake and smudge. Looks gross. I mean it works for other girls, personally I don’t like it for the main reason that I don’t want to keep checking on my lips throughout the day.

So today I wanna share about this lip concealer that I have been using called Lip Tapping Concealer by Innisfree, a Korean company that produces mainly skin care products, and cosmetics.
I used to use Golden Rose Concealer on my lips to hide the discoloration, but I find it drying and it flakes off. Bad idea.

Anyway, when I was browsing I saw this product and thought maybe it would help with my lipstick color problems.

Product claims:

Special lip concealer that tones down the natural lip color. It smoothes, softens and gives vivid color of the lipstick. Not meant to be used on any other part of the body.

Ingredients:

Contains Camellia oil and Shea butter.

Packaging:

It comes in a small plastic container. I thought I’d be receiving the one with a glass bottom, but well..this one came.

Color:

It has two colors from what I’ve seen. I think this one is the darker shade.

Texture:
Kinda like a tinted lip balm.

Smell:

It has this faint sweet condensed milk scent I love it!

My experience with this:

  • It’s a little hydrating as it contains shea butter.
  • Easy to use, just taptaptap it away!
  • Very travel friendly, it’s small and fits in my palm and the container is durable.
  • It helped conceal the discoloration.
  • It helped with making the true lipstick color come out.
  • I find that when I use too much of the product to really cancel out the color of my lips, I have to blot and let it dry for a couple of minutes before applying lipstick.

Usage:
I use my ring finger to take some product and tap it on my lips blending it out specially on the outline.

Overall this helps with my frustration of getting the true lipstick color pop out, personally I don’t like the concealer-blot-powder-lipstick combo. And the great part is that it helps hydrate my lips.

Fascy Tina S. Sunglass Daily Sunblock

Hi everyone! Ready for the summer heat?

Me? Nah, I live in the Philippines and everyday here is summer lol! But when summer season actually arrives, man the heat is killing! Literally. Better stay hydrated!

Summer is coming and we need a good skin protection from the harmful sun rays. It’s gonna be hot hot hot and it’s good to keep a waterproof, sweatproof sunblock in hand. There are so many kinds out there, but my favorite one is the spray on ’cause it’s just easy to use, but more expensive.

I came across this product called Fascy Tina. S Sunglass Daily Sunblock SPF50PA+++ and I thought maybe I can try this. (I just realized, almost all the products I have been using have such long names.)

Product claims:

A powerful nourishing facial sunscreen
Features a lightweight, waterproof & refreshing formula
Provides anti-wrinkle, whitening & nourishing benefits
Shields skin against harmful UV rays with SPF50+ PA+++
Leaves skin soft, radiant, even-toned & healthy looking
Perfect for all skin types

Packaging:

It comes in a sturdy white plastic tube with a rose gold screw cap. So fancy. The box is also fancy, the inner parts has fascy written all over it.

Smell:

Smells like sunblock, but when it dries it smells like Laneige BB Cushion, like water.

Texture:

Light but creamy. When I spread it on my skin it has this feel like I’m using my Cloud9 Blanc de Whitening. Like whipped icing. It’s a cream type not lotion type.

My experiences with this:

  • Did not give me any irritations.
  • Lightweight.
  • Not sticky at all even after sweating.
  • It’s easy to spread and apply on the skin. It doesn’t clump up or leave an oily residue.
  • It gave me an instant brightening and evened out my skin tone. 👍
  • When my face started sweating it did not clump or pooled on the contours, pores or fine lines of my skin.
  • It did not oil up my skin.
  • It mattified my face even after sweating. 👍
  • It gave the impression that I’m using a BB cream.
  • I’ll go ahead and say great oil control! 👍
  • It cools down my skin 👍 this is a big plus for me because other sunblocks makes my skin feel hot.
  • Surprisingly it did a nice job blurring my pores.
  • Another surprise is that it kind of helped hiding my dark circles.
  • It dries up fast.
  • My face felt a little tight and a tad bit dry. Like I can see fine lines when I smile and I feel the pull.
  • Waterproof! Really.
  • After removing this my skin was brighter.
  • It did not clog my pores.
  • Even though it acts as a color corrector, my face looked pale so I think I can’t use this on its own I have to layer a BB cream to fix that.

Application:

I use this after my morning skin care. I take an ample amount, one application on my forehead, another for the left side of my face, and another for the right side, and then another for my neck. I spread it and give a little massage like what I do with my night cream and after that it’s already dry.

As suggested, apply sunblock 20 minutes before sun exposure and reapplication after 20 minutes. When prolonged sun exposure (a total of 2 hours) reapply again and repeat. This is to ensure that the skin is properly protected.

Removing:

It’s hard to remove this one when I don’t sweat so I remove this using my HHN Oil Cleanser first and then I wash my face.

Note: Makeup remover wipes doesn’t remove this at all.

SPF50 means your skin is 50 times more protected before you start to fry hahaha! For example if your skin starts getting skin burnt after 5 minutes of sun exposure that means using an SPF50 gives it 50 times more minutes of protection before getting burnt. But that doesn’t mean you have to neglect the 2 hour accumulated time reapplication when your out and about. Better safe than sorry right?

I didn’t like the sunblock plastic smell at first, but like I said when it’s dried it smells like mineral water and I really enjoy that refreshing scent. The packaging also makes it easy for travelling.

For reference:

My skin is combination type, oily t-zone and the sides of the nose and eyelids, enlarged pores, acne-prone, cystic acne problems.

L’oreal Lipsticks in My Stash

Hi everyone! How have you all been? I want to share another Quick rev. It’s about the L’oreal lipsticks that I have in my stash. It’s a quick read don’t worry.

I kind of had this lipstick mania a while back because my lips are a little discolored and I wanted something I can use when I attend gatherings or I hangout with close friends. Although I end up removing them when I go home.

Star Collection in Naomi
This has a light pink color that I love even though I don’t like pink. It has small shimmer to it, but it’s gone after a couple of hours. It’s a little patchy when usig on dry lips and it clings to the fine lines, but if I use a lip balm first it glides on smoothely and lasts a little longer. Perfect for everyday use.

Texture: A little creamy and is hydrating.

Finish: Demi-matte.

Color Riche collection:
Crayon sunset
This has an orange color to it. I must admit when I saw the sales lady in the mall using this I didn’t want to use it because it made her look like she’s wearing something like dulled neon orange on her lips. I came back a few times and kept checking the color before I decided to get one and I love the color! I don’t have to use any lip conealers as it cancels out the darkness of my upper lip. Perfect for that nude look, everyday use, or you know just chilling.

Texture: A little creamy and hydrating.

Finish: Matte.

Peachy Brown

This I did not expect to have shimmer on it, when I was browsing the internet for shades and swatches and when I swatched it at the counter it didn’t have that shimmer @_@ confusing. I personally don’t like the shimmer part. It has a peach brown color to it and the pigmentation isn’t bad at all. This one lasts longer than the Crayon Sunset.

Texture: A little creamy and hydrating.

Finish: Demi-matte.
Maple Mocha

This is a little too dark on me, more of a brown color when I apply it. I have to use a lip concealer to make the real color pop or else I’ll look old and grouchy. The color is like mahogany I guess. Or like maple syrup kind of color. It took me 2 weeks and 4 malls to find this cause either they’re sold out or they don’t have it. This lasts longer than any of the three colors and has smoother application. Even though it makes me look more mature I really like this color.

Texture: A little creamy and a little hydrating.

Finish: Demi-matte.

Have you tried any of these? Any thoughts? Tips and tricks on application? Share it!

What’s in my bag?

Hey there! I’m reblogging this post from my former blog 🙂 enjoy!

I’ll do a “What’s in my bag” post today. Are you one of the ladies or gentlemen who carry a big cosmetic/vanity bag where ever you go? Or you’re one of those who only carry items for touch ups? Or probably packing only the “essentials”, or maybe you don’t pack at all?

In my case I’m not too comfortable wearing full face makeup if there is no event or gathering that requires it. I firmly believe that I don’t have to put makeup and all the shebang when I go to my classes, but a different story when I hangout with friends or just with my bag (yes I hang out with my bag because I’m an Introvert 🙁). So I’ll say I’m one of those who carries minimal stuff. But lip balm is out of the list since it’s always in my pocket.

So.. what’s in this thing? It actually depends on the weather.

If it’s hot outside:

Human Heart Nature Face Wash – it makes my skin feel refreshed and cleanses it well. (Review soon)

Human Heart Nature Day Moisturizer – this stuff is absorbed by my skin so fast and smells great!

Or Apieu Essential Source Hyaluronic Acid Moisture Skin – it also dries fast and refreshing.

Laneige Pore Control BB Cushion – when I’m sweating too much and I just want to wash everything away and start fresh. This is one awesome product.

Skinfood Peach Sake Silky Finish Powder (decanted) – has a nice natural glow that doubles as an oil control and setting powder. Perfect for a hot day.

Fascy Tina Sunglass Sunblock – Of course I can’t forget my favorite sunblock right now. More oil control power and mattifies my skin.

Innisfree Lip Tapping Concealer – Since I got this I’ve almost always use it. It helps blur out my discoloration.

Two lipstick shades usually pink and nude. I would go for my L’oreal or A’pieu.
That’s about it. I don’t bring the makeup remover wipes since my facial wash washes away everything.

If it’s cold:

Human Heart Nature Face Wash – I really like this face wash when I’m on the go.

Scinic AIO Ampoule (decanted)- really good with moisturizing.

The Face Shop Oil Control Water Cushion – it helps maintain the moisture in my skin, great oil control, and lessen the irritation of my skin due to dust particles.

Fascy Tina Sunglass Sunblock – of course the sun protection that the skin needs.

Innisfree Lip Tapping Concealer – for when I brought a light shade of lipstick.

One or two shades of lipsticks either L’oreal (Review here) or Colourpop.

That’s about it 🙂

I didn’t list any eye or cheek makeup did I? I don’t use much eye makeup when I go to my classes, my eyelids have their own shade so I go with that and the rosacea on my cheeks doubles up as a natural blush hahaha!

What’s in your bag? Any thoughts? Share it!
